We played at our recent Live + Breathe volunteer get-together... like it was our job! A remarkably fun yoga class was led by Jenna. And a beautiful savasana song by Aja (available to listen here) left us all with a peaceful smile from ear to ear. At L+B, we are beyond fortunate to have a team of passionate individuals behind the scenes. The entire community is represented by talented teachers, marketers, authors and experts in the field of wellness. A compassionate group, working together to show the good and share the love. They create the kind of world that we would all want to live in.
It is, indeed, an honor to walk this path with our volunteers. The work is sincere by nature and brings yoga to those without access as a tool to cope, self-regulate, decrease anxiety and depression and allow a choice to take place. A choice of greater peace. With this same importance, we also have fun! So. Much. Fun!
Yoga Feature: Non-Profit Class
Twice a month, we provide yoga classes to a local non-profit, San Diego WorkForce Partnership. A lunch hour class is dedicated to service workers. As a service worker, care giver or provider of any type, it is vital to your own health and happiness to take time to rejuvenate. In the larger picture, this directly impacts those that you serve. A donation class allows this special group to pause for mid-day peace and wellness. Erika, who we love dearly, leads this class. Read her yogini highlight here, she has an admirable mission and story to share!
News: Radys Children’s Hospital & The Sean O’Shea Foundation
Live + Breathe is partnering with The Sean O’Shea Foundation to bring regular yoga classes to Radys Children’s Hospital. We will be working within the medical behavioral unit to offer yoga to patients with eating disorders. Serving the same mission, we will make a greater impact together by providing the tools of yoga, balancing both mind and body. www.seanosheafoundation.org
In the Field: Mat Goal Reached!
An update to our “Love big. Give Yoga.” campaign ending 2015. We have raised funds to provide 50 new yoga mats to our students! We will be providing the mats this summer as special giveaway items for a Christmas in July. Immense gratitude for all of the support offered to reach our goal!
