Alisha leads a positive life and radiates energy that speaks her truth without words.
At L+B, we are beyond fortunate to have her sharing knowledge of peace, love and yoga to the world around us. Thanking our lucky stars for Alisha. This girl, she glows.
What brings you to your yoga mat?
Self-love. I respect my body and know the difference of how I feel when I practice and when I don’t practice yoga asanas.
How do you practice yoga off your mat?
I practice all eight limbs of yoga daily making sure to focus on Yama (moral behavior towards others), Niyama (moral behavior towards self) and Dhyana (meditation).
Why did you want to become involved with Live + Breathe?
I feel that it is important to create a community based on love. Live + Breathe is love.
As an instructor, what is your favorite part about teaching yoga?
I love being able to transfer positive and loving energy to each student that walks onto the mat.
What are, in your opinion, some of the key benefits of yoga?
I feel that the key benefit of yoga is taking the time to focus inward instead of outward. When we begin to truly see and love ourselves we begin to make positive changes in our lives that benefit the community as a whole.
Do you recall any special moments from your students?
I truly appreciate our talks off the mat. It is so wonderful to be able to connect with another human being about life and dreams. Sometimes we just need to listen in order to be supportive.
Are there any lessons you have learned from your students?
Be real all day everyday.
Is there a pose or meditation that you could do every single day?
Savasana. I mean, why the hell not?!?!
What or who inspires you?
What inspires me? To be perfectly honestly every flower, every sunset, every being inspires me.
